In numismatics, 'potin' is usually any alloy of copper with a high tin content. It was extensively used to produce cast Celtic
coins. The term is sometimes incorrectly applied to indicate the material of debased silver coinages such as Roman imperial
antoniniani of the late 3rd century AD.
