The Muḥammadzay, a small subdivision of the Durrānī Bārakzay of Ḳandahār, derive their name from Muḥammad, a contemporary
of Malik Sadō, chief of the Abdālī clans, with whom he lived amongst his small tribe at Arg̲h̲asān, SE of Ḳandahār, about
1000/1591.
