The Arsacid Dynasty was founded by Arsaces I in the mid-second century B.C. when he captured the Seleucid satrapy of Parthia from Andragoras. Although there were many competing rulers, the dynasty remained unbroken until the end of the Parthian Empire in A.D. 224. Artabanus IV was the final Arasacid king.
