Medieval mint of Thebes in Boiotia, for the de la Roche lords (later: dukes) of Athens, and probably for their Catalan conquerors and successors. Between the late 1240s and 1258 or 1259 base pennies and their fractions were issued, ca. 1285 to 1311 deniers tournois and some rare base fractions, and probably from 1311 base imitative deniers tournois. The mint was probably located in the central upper town known as the Kadmeia (literature: Travaini 2011, pp. 1461-1464; Baker 2021, pp. 1359-1362, 1427-1439, 1481-1483, and passim). Μεσαιωνικό νομισματοκοπείο των Θηβών στη Βοιωτία, για τους άρχοντες (μετέπειτα δούκες) de la Roche των Αθηνών, και πιθανώς για τους κατακτητές Καταλανούς που τους διαδέχθηκαν. Μεταξύ των τελευταίων ετών της δεκαετίας του 1240 και του 1258 ή 1259 παρήχθησαν δηνάρια από ευτελές μέταλλο και υποδιαιρέσεις, από περ. 1285 έως το 1311 κόπηκαν δηνάρια τορνέσια και ορισμένες σπάνιες υποδιαιρέσεις από ευτελές μέταλλο· μετά το 1311 πιθανώς εκδόθηκαν απομιμήσεις δηναρίων τορνεσίων από ευτελές μέταλλο. Die mittelalterliche Münzstätte von Theben in Böotien, für die Herren (später Herzöge) de la Roche von Athen und wahrscheinlich für ihre katalanischen Eroberer und Nachfolger. Zwischen den späten 1240er Jahren und 1258/9 wurden Pfennige in schlechtem Silber und deren Halbstücke ausgegeben, ca. 1285 bis 1311 Deniers Tournois und einige seltene Halbpfennige, und wahrscheinlich ab 1311 minnderwertige Imitationen des Denier Tournois. Die Münzstätte befand sich wahrscheinlich in der zentralen Oberstadt, die als Kadmeia bekannt ist (Literatur: Travaini 2011, S. 1461-1464; Baker 2021, S. 1359-1362, 1427-1439, 1481-1483, und passim).
