The mint in Nyon, a town in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. Nyon was part of the territory of the archbishopric of Besançon
before in 1272, the sovereign rights over the town and the dominion of Nyon passed to the House of Savoy, which was only able
to enforce them by force of arms after a long struggle against the former governors, the Lords of Prangins, in 1293. It became
the only mint of the Barony of Vaud.
