Definition
The medieval and modern Christian mint was located in the town of Sanaüja, in the province of Lleida (Catalonia, Spain). It began minting coins in the 11th century, although its activity seems to have ceased in the first third of the 12th century due to the presence of other county mints. There were possible emissions of pougeoises between the late 13th century and the 15th century, and in the second half of the 16th century there were emissions of incuse diners. In 1642, sixenes made of copper were produced, although no pieces that can be attributed to this period have been located yet.
