The Lords of Wolfurt or Wolffurt were a noble and knightly family that - belonging to the ministerial nobility of Lindau and
loyal to the House of Hohenstaufen - had influence in the southern Black Forest, in Vorarlberg and in Switzerland from the
12th to the 15th century and provided numerous abbots/abbesses, but also important confidants of kings. Their ancestral seat
was Wolffurt Castle. They were issuers of coins in Lindau (abbess Segine of Wolfurt) and Kempten (abbot John Eucharius of
Wolfurt).
