Appointed Mintmaster in Cologne (City), Germany, on 7 November 1629 (and sworn in a week later), a position he held until 1652. His mintmark was a star. Cramer applied for the position of General Warden for the Cologne Circle and was sworn in on 11 October 1643. He died sometime between Autumn 1652 and early 1653.
